K-Pop Videos Monthly Digest: October 2018

Let's take a look at October 1st changes on Kpop all time charts and the site changes.

No major site-wide change this month, only some tweaking on the database adding more groups.

Video of the Month: Girl's Generation Oh!GG's Lil' Touch, although BTS's Idol (Feat. Nicki Minaj) came close.

This month Twice broke the 400 million views, being the first girl group to do so, while Blackpink's As if it's your last got past only 2 days later, stealing 6th place on the general board. No surprise, Blackpink's Ddu-du Ddu-du came close at 8th closing the month at 381 million.

Other noteworthy changes on the main rank were more BTS videos climbing with Fake Love and Not Today, while EXO's Monster entered the top 30 making Girl's Generation Gee leave.

For solo male videos, little change as Psy's New Face and G-Dragon's WHO YOU? climbed one spot. On male groups, BTS's Dope, Fake Love and Spring Day moved up, with BTS's Idol entering the top 30 straight to 18th. iKon's Love Scenario managed to move 3 places up to 19th, and BIGBANG's Blue left the ranking.

Small changes on Female Solo music videos, with Sunmi's Gashina and Heroine moving one spot, Lee Hi also one with Breathe, and Chung ha got two spots with Roller Coaster to 26th. No new entries. For female groups, as one might expect, a lot of major changes. Blackpink Ddu-du Ddu-du powered through from 29th to 3rd, while Blackpink's As if it's your last and Whistle also moved up. A new entry was Ddu-du Ddu-du Dance Practice, the first dance practice to get into top 30, straight to 23rd. Twice's Dance the Night Away also entered the top 30 into 26th, and Momoland's BAAM into 30th. The videos ousted by these new entries were Red Velvet's Red Flavor and Girl's Generation Party.

For male soloists, Lay moved up 2 places to 22nd and no other changes. Male Groups saw Wanna One climb 3 spots to 14th, Several groups moved around as old videos were posted by netizens for NCT U, NCT 127, B.A.P., TVXQ!, NU'EST, Stray Kids and Pentagon - busy month for male group fans reporting missing videos, but most changes were small except for NCT I climbing from 23rd to 18th. No new entries.

Female artists saw Sunmi, Eunji, Lyn and Amber moving up, while Tiffany got down because her American-based videos were removed (not K-Pop). In Female Artists, Blackpink stole Girls' Generation 2nd place, and LOOΠΔ entered at 29th, displacing 9Muses out of the top 30.

A lot of comebacks are expected this coming month, so stay tuned. As for trends, Blackpink should make some noise for the third month going, while BTS is probably a normal occurrence of new highs.
